The Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system with individual torque vectoring per wheel, the high-specification VTEC turbo engines and the sport-oriented platform share DNA with high-end Honda models but with tuning more focused on dynamic performance.

Current-generation Acura engines require 0W-20 oil meeting API SN Plus or ILSAC GF-5/GF-6 standards. The 2.0T engine in the TLX and RDX — with its four small turbochargers arranged in a single-scroll configuration — requires oil to flow quickly when cold to protect the turbo bearings in the first seconds after startup. The 0W-20 specification is critical for this engine.
Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is one of the most sophisticated all-wheel drive systems on the market. The SH-AWD rear differential can send up to 70% of torque to the rear axle and distribute it between right and left wheels to aid cornering. This system requires the correct differential fluid and specific diagnostics when irregularities occur. We perform the SH-AWD rear differential service with Honda-specified fluids. Acuras share electronic architecture with high-end Honda models, allowing us to access all modules: the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), transmission, ABS/VSA module, SH-AWD system, airbags, electric power steering and all AcuraWatch driver assistance systems. Our diagnostic equipment reads and clears codes across all these modules.
Acura recommends an oil change every 8,000 km or 12 months with 0W-20 oil. The Maintenance Minder system — identical to Honda's — calculates the exact interval based on driving style. In Cancún's heat, we recommend respecting the indicator and not exceeding 8,000 km between changes.
Yes. We perform the SH-AWD rear differential fluid change with Honda VTM-4 fluid or the correct differential fluid for the active torque vectoring SH-AWD system. This service is important at 60,000–80,000 km to maintain correct torque distribution performance.
Yes. We service all Acura generations, including the TL with J35 V6 engine and the TSX with K24 engine. We follow the oil and fluid specifications for each generation and have the diagnostic equipment to access their electronic systems.
