Honda's current-generation engines — the L15B7 1.5 turbo in the Civic and CR-V, the K20C 2.0 turbo in the Civic Type R, and the K24 in the Accord — specify long-life 0W-20 oil. Honda explicitly recommends 0W-20 oil meeting API SN or ILSAC GF-5/GF-6 standards. Using an incorrect viscosity such as 5W-30 in these engines can affect fuel consumption and VTEC efficiency at low operating temperatures.
Honda's Earth Dreams CVT transmission is one of the most refined systems on the market, but it requires Honda's specific HCF-2 fluid. Using a generic CVT fluid can cause metal belt slippage and costly long-term damage. Modern Hondas incorporate the Honda Sensing driver assistance suite with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring. Honda recommends changing the oil every 8,000 km or 12 months using 0W-20 oil. In Cancún, with the heat and urban traffic, we recommend not exceeding 8,000 km between changes. Maintenance A includes only an oil change; Maintenance B adds the air filter, brake inspection and tire rotation.
Yes. After each service we reset the Honda Maintenance Minder (Oil Life Indicator) so the system begins calculating the next interval from scratch based on your driving style.
Yes. Under Mexican law, the manufacturer's warranty cannot be conditioned on exclusive dealership service. We document every service with an invoice and use Honda-specification consumables so your maintenance record is fully backed up.
