Japanese luxury from the Q50, Q60 and QX range deserves matching service. Complete diagnostics, correct oil for VQ engines and care for all Infiniti systems.
Book Your AppointmentInfiniti is Nissan's luxury division and its vehicles combine proven Japanese mechanical reliability with premium finishes and first-class technology. The legendary VQ V6 engines — renowned for their smoothness and durability — and the more recent VC-Turbo variable-displacement engines are the heart of the range. As a luxury brand, Infiniti also incorporates advanced technology such as the Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) in the Q50 and the All-Mode 4WD system.
At Ágil Mecánica we service the full Infiniti range: the Q50 sport sedan with VQ37VHR V6 or 2.0t turbo engine; the two-door Q60 coupe; the compact QX50 SUV with the innovative variable compression ratio VC-Turbo engine; the family QX60 SUV; and the full-size QX80 with a 5.6L V8 engine.
Infiniti's sports sedans and coupes. VQ37VHR V6 3.7L or 2.0T engine service, 7-speed automatic transmission maintenance and Q50 DAS steering system diagnostics.
Infiniti's most popular SUVs. VC-Turbo variable compression ratio engine service for the QX50 and VQ35DE for the QX60. All-Mode 4WD maintenance and complete diagnostics.
Infiniti's flagship SUV with 5.6L VK56VD V8 engine. Large-displacement drivetrain maintenance, 7-speed automatic transmission service and double-wishbone suspension system inspection.
Infiniti's VQ engines — especially the VQ37VHR in the Q50 and Q60 — specify 5W-30 oil meeting Nissan/Infiniti specification. The VC-Turbo engine in the QX50 requires 0W-20 low-viscosity oil so the variable compression ratio system operates correctly. Using the right oil is especially important in this innovative engine. The VK56VD V8 in the QX80 accepts 5W-30. We verify the exact specification for each engine before every service.
The Q50 incorporates Infiniti's Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) system, which can mechanically disconnect the steering column and control vehicle direction through electric actuators. This is advanced technology that requires specific diagnostics when anomalies occur. Any unusual steering wheel vibration or strange steering behavior on the Q50 deserves an inspection with specialized scanning equipment. More on our automotive diagnostics page.
Infiniti vehicles use Jatco (Japan Automatic Transmission Company) 7-speed automatic transmissions. These require Nissan Matic S fluid or equivalent — not a generic ATF. A fluid change at 60,000–80,000 km is important to prevent slippage and premature torque converter wear. We perform this service with the correct fluid. More on our car maintenance page.
Infiniti recommends changing the oil every 8,000 km or 12 months. In Cancún's extreme heat, we recommend not exceeding 8,000 km for VQ engines and 6,000 km for the turbocharged VC-Turbo, which operates under greater thermal stress.
Yes. The VQ37VHR V6 3.7L in the Q50 Sport and Q60 is designed for 91-octane fuel (premium in Mexico). Using 87-octane regular fuel can cause knock and reduce performance. The 2.0T engines accept regular fuel although the manual recommends premium for optimal performance.
Yes. We have the diagnostic equipment to access the Q50's DAS steering control module and read stored fault codes. It's important to diagnose correctly before intervening in this advanced system.
